MILITARY LEAGUE STRUCTURE - 2007 SEASON
Any player can play at any location for free as long as they are a registered member of the Series 7 Blackjack League. Any player can register at any tournament or online. Once they are registered and receive their membership number, they are registered for life, and will use that number every time they check into a tournament.
Players can play at the location or locations of their choosing. The game is No Limit Texas Hold ’em, and the top 16 players from any tournament receive points. The better the player does, the more points they will receive.
Points are tracked 3 different ways so that players can see how they stack up against other players throughout the military Series 7 Blackjack League:
- Points are tracked by location. The top 80 point-getters at each location will be invited to a Monthly Championship for that location. The Monthly Championship is the last tournament for the month at that location. The winners of the Monthly Championship will earn a seat at the Base Championship.
- Points are tracked by base. The top point-getters for the base will be invited to the Base Championship. The number of top point-getters invited to the Base Championship will be determined by the size of the base.
- Points are tracked by service. The top 10 point-getters from each service (Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force) will be invited to the Series 7 Combined Armed Forces Poker Championship.
The Series 7 Base Championship is a tournament held at each base. The size of the Base Championship is determined by the size of the base. For example, a base running 13 or fewer games per week will have a Base Championship consisting of all Monthly Champions and the top base point-getters for a total of 80 players. A base running 14 to 20 games per week will have a Base Championship consisting of all Monthly Champions and the top base point-getters for a total of 160 players. A base running 21 to 27 games per week will have a total of 240 players. A base running 28 to 34 games per week will have 320 players, etc. The top 7 finishers from each Base Championship will be invited to the Series 7 Combined Armed Forces Poker Championship. The winner of each Base Championship will also win a seat into the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Oh, by the way, at Series 7 Base Championship, officers and enlisted personnel will be playing together. Only 7 will move on!!! Only 1 winner!!!
Will it be Officer or Enlisted??
The Series 7 Combined Armed Forces Poker Championship is an annual tournament and will rotate from service to service each year. The top 7 finishers from each Series 7 Base Championship and the top 10 point-getters from each service will be invited to this tournament. So the best of the Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force will all compete for the honor of being called the best poker player in the United States armed forces. Each of the top 7 finishers will win seats into the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, and the Series 7 Combined Armed Forces Poker Champion will win a $10,000 buy-in to the World Series of Poker Main Event.
The Champion will also receive the Series 7 Combined Armed Forces Poker Championship trophy which they will present to their commanding officer. The trophy will reside at that base for one year until the next Championship when it will be brought back and awarded to the next Champion. The current Champion will be offered the honor of returning the trophy and defending their Championship.
Who will it be??
